Felipe “KreeganBG” Stoyne, the CGS player of LA Complexity team, was nice enough to give us an exclusive interview about his professional gaming experience and much more. Check it out:

Please tell us your name, age, nationality and residence.

My name is Felipe Stoyne. I’m 19 years old and I was born in Pernik, Bulgaria, but currently reside in New Jersey, USA.

How long have you been playing FIFA, and what’s been your best moment so far in your eSports career?

Well I have been playing FIFA since FIFA 94 on the Sega Genesis. Professionaly I have been playing FIFA since the Fall of 2005 with FIFA 2006’s release. The best moment so far in my eSports career would have to be when I was chosen as a representive for compLexity Los Angeles and to participate in the Championship Gaming Series League’s 2007 Season.

What can you tell us about your experience in the CGS in 2007?

Well the experience in the CGS was trully amazing. Being part of the first true professional gaming league out there is a dream come true.

I have been playing so hard the last 2 years and finally I have achieved my dream. The league is extraordinary without a doubt this is only the first season and we had Live Auidence, Reporters, Fans, Salaries and so many more great things. I had so much fun living in Marina Del Rey, California for those 2 months of CGS. The matches, activities, training and of course enjoyment of the scenery and beach was amazing indeed. I met a lot of good friends and even some people that I came to respect as really close friends thus I’m so happy I was given this oportunity to play in the CGS.

We know that you had a great experience and remained a very competitive player but your team did not qualify, what will happen next in CGS?

I sure did have a great experience this season and tried to my best to remain on top and bring as many points as I could.

Yes, unfortunatly my team compLexity wasn’t able to qualify for the playoffs. :( This was a hard moment for us as a team, but what can you do except come out stronger next year and show that we are a 1st place team not a 5th place one. Next season in CGS I believe all of compLexity’s players will come really pripared and hungry for the championship title. Every single player in compLexity wants this and will work hard threw the remainig time of the year to be prepared for the CGS 2008 season.

We understand that you went to the FIWC for the XBOX, please tell us your experiences there and also, will you be participating in the new FIWWC with the PS3?

Oh yes the FIWC :) I qualified for FIWC 2006 by becoming the champion in the USA qualifier hosted in New York City,NY. Then after as a winner was flown to Amsterdam,Netherlands to competer in the FIWC 2006 Grand Finals. This was a really nice experience to me since I met for the first time some friends from around the world that I have known for the past 2 years.

I have never been to Amsterdam but that was a beautiful city and was really fun place to visit. I was without a doubt glad I went and seen this place. Now about the tournament itself, I went there with only goal and that was becoming the World Champion and getting the 20,000$ prize and the chance to visit the World Player awards in the Zurich,Gala.

The tournament kicked off great for me and i played amazingly until the Final 4 where I faced off the eventual champion. This is was trully my worst game of the tournament and with 2 lucky goals on his behalf the final score was 3-2 for him. Thus my World Championship title dream was shattered, but I pulled myself together and won the 3/4th place Game with 4-2. This was trully one of the best moments in my life before the CGS experience. I recieved a 20,000$ bronze trophy that the real Soccer players get and became the bronze medalist in the world in FIFA 2007.

Well definitely my goal is to participate in the FIWC 2007 on the PS3 and represent my team compLexity with honor. If I’m giving the chance to play I’m going for only 1 thing there and that is the Gold Medal since in FIWC 2006 i was so close, but only managed the bronze medal.

I will be training really really hard for this tournament so all I can say is beware I’m coming to reclaim the Gold this time no the bronze ^^

Please tell us your experience in the WCG Panamerican games, we know that you missed the final because you had to leave. Also, will you be playing in the USA WCG? if so when?

This was another fun experience. Before going to Los Angeles,California and live and play in the Championship Gaming Series I had the chance to play in the WCG Panamerican games @ Cancun, Mexico. Cancun is a paradise to me the water the people the club scene is truly amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was the sun it is to much and I got burned pretty badly. Here I met some really nice people which became now like my friends.

Also I met another great guy I have known for long time but never had the chance to meet him. Arturo :) he was there to be the referee in my tournament of Fifa 2007. This guy is a great referee and a person, the only other person would have been happy to meet is ShevaMX :) I have known him also since the begging of my Fifa career. I really enjoyed Cancun went to the Clubs,Beach and the nice hotel we are at.

The tournament was great I managed to play quite well and only losing 1 game in the Group stage due to some lag problems with the Brazilian guy. Then I played the first round of the brackets I played the other Brazilian representative he managed to win vs me since it was only 1 game. Then after that I buckled up and played amazingly and defeated all my opponents and got to the Final vs the Brazilian guy again. Here the lag problems were even worse than before, my screen was jumping the delay was really bad and choppy. We were waiting to get this problems fixed but, unfortunately my plane was leaving for Los Angeles in 1 and half hours. So even if I managed to win vs him the first bo3 of set I would have to forfeit the second set of bo3 any ways. I called my manager Jason Lake he said you need to get down here so I had to forfeit the Finals due to my plane. I was really focused and ready to claim the gold, but we will never know who the true winner would of have been Pan-American Games 2008 I hope for a rematch ^^

Yes, I will be playing in the WCG USA Finals which are September 14-16th in Orlando,Florida. This tournament I’m preparing really hard so after I achieve the Gold in Orlando I’m going for the World Champion title in Seattle at WCG 2007 Grand Finals.

How many hours do you train a day, favorite team, formation and which is your style of play?

The hours of training pretty much depend on how close the tournament is and how you feel your game play level is. I would say 2-3 weeks before a tournament I play 2-4 hours and the last few days before a tournament 6-8 hours to be fully prepared for it. Otherwise in the time I don’t have tournaments or events coming maybe 1 hour or some days no hours.

Favorite team would be Barcelona since they are truly a top team in FIFA :) Few of my favorite formations are 4-3-3, 3-4-1-2, 4-4-2, 4-1-2-1-2. My Style of play is definitely play smart(user your head not your mouth) do what you need to do to make those goals and be the winner at the end of the match when the referee’s whistle blows.

What are your thoughts on Fifa 08?

My thoughts about Fifa 2008 are mixed to be honest. I have seen some videos and they have made me really happy other’s have not. It feels that EA has made FIFA a lot like Pro Evolution Soccer which does not make me to happy.

Hopefully I’m wrong and Fifa has only improved with these adjustments, but if FIFA has become like Pro Evo a lot of players will not be happy since Pro Evo is not that good of a game to play and the gameplay is very lousy. We cant judge now before the game has come out so when it comes out we can discuss this :) Really looking forward to it.

Now please give us your final comments.
